The White Walkers are coming in final new Game of Thrones trailer
The final trailer for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones is finally here.
After what feels like decades of waiting, the final season of Game of Thrones is within our reach. The fantasy hit returns to HBO on April 14, with Sky Atlantic simulcasting the series for UK audiences.
While the two-minute trailer gives little away about what we can expect to happen in season eight, there are a few interesting titbits to take away.
The trailer focuses on four main voiceovers. These start with Arya, who proclaims she knows death’s many faces and “I look forward to seeing this one”. An ominous statement from a show not afraid of killing off its major players in its final season.
Secondly is time-traveler Bran, reinstating the importance of the past in defining the future. “Everything you did brought you where you are now – where you belong. Home.” His words accompany footage of Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen and Sansa Stark.
Next, there is Jon Snow, who, as always, warns us of the series’ looming threat. He warns that a White Walker “doesn’t tire, doesn’t stop, doesn’t feel’. Their battle is almost impossible.
Finally, there is Jaime Lannister – who last series parted ways from scheming twin sister Cersei. “I intend to fight for the living” promises the eldest Lannister brother, in time for the final few moments of the trailer, where an army of the living await an onslaught from the dead.
Game of Thrones returns to Sky Atlantic on April 15 at 2am and 9pm.
