Watch the Freeview premiere of Escobar: Paradise Lost on Sony Movies
Benicio del Toro’s spellbinding performance in Escobar: Paradise Lost has its Freeview premiere on Sony Movies tonight at 9pm.
Escobar: Paradise Lost is a romance thriller, telling the story of a young Canadian tourist Nick Brady (Josh Hutcherson) who falls in love with Maria (Claudia Traisac), the niece of real life drug kingpin Pablo Escobar (Benicio del Toro).
Life around Colombia’s most infamous criminal is dangerous, leaving Nick and Maria to decide to run away forever. However, Escobar and his ‘trusted’ men are unlikely to make it easy…

Escobar: Paradise Lost first premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival in 2014, before being released in the UK in 2015.
Critics praised Benicio del Toro’s commanding presence as Escobar, with The Hollywood Reporter’s Todd McCarthy likening it to Marlon Brando’s acclaimed performance in The Godfather. Del Toro was later nominated for a Best Actor Platino Ibero-American Film Award for the role.
