X Factor Reveals Entire Schedule in Bid to Beat Strictly
In another controversial move from the 2015 X Factor, ITV bosses have revealed the entire schedule for season 12 ahead of its premiere this Saturday.
The decision comes in a bid for the reality talent show to beat BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing which is due to return to screens on Saturday September 5th, bringing on super songstress Jess Glynne in its season opener. So, in the wake of ITV director Peter Fincham publicly asking the BBC to prevent head-to-head clashes, a full list of dates and times for X Factor was released yesterday to accommodate for the overlap.
Of course, X Factor airs its first of seven audition rounds this Saturday (August 29) at 8pm, which continues until September 20, when boot camp rounds begin and X Factor will take a month-long break from its Saturday shows. Round one of Boot Camp will start a string of five consecutive ‘Super Sunday’ episodes that will air at 7pm because of the Rugby World Cup, with each Sunday show being jam-packed with two hours of music, drama and plenty of controversy.
The Saturday night shows will return for Judges’ Houses, which will air live on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25 at 7.30pm, before the live elimination shows begin the following week on Halloween night (October 31) at 8pm.
Notably, there are only seven weeks of live elimination shows this series, as opposed to the traditional ten, which hints at a decline in people being taking through to that stage, or double eliminations – each of which will heighten the tension around the 12th season.
Weekly eliminations lead up to X Factor’s two-night grand finale beginning on Saturday, December 12 and concluding on Sunday, December 13, with both finale episodes starting at 8pm.
