Ellen DeGeneres makes cringe ‘Channing Tatum’ slip-up during interview with Jenna Dewan
It’s nice to know we’re not the only ones struggling to come to terms with Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan’s split, after Ellen DeGeneres made a major slip-up on air this week.
While introducing Jenna Dewan – who recently announced her divorce on social media – to her chat show, Ellen made the mistake of calling the World of Dance host by her married name, “Jenna Dewan Tatum”.
Realising her cringe-worthy error, the presenter quickly corrected herself and apologised.
Later during the interview with Dewan and fellow judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo, Ellen addressed her mistake.
“I have to say, before we go to break, I’m so sorry,” the host said. “I introduced you, and it was just such a habit, I have to say, the way you and Channing are handling everything, is beautiful and for your daughter and the statements have been great. And I apologise, I just have known both of you for so long and I’m so used to saying [it].”
The Step Up actress seemed very understanding and replied: “I know. Thank you. And I mean honestly, thank you and everybody for all the love and the support. It’s truly so moving so thank you.”
As the audience applauded and J-Lo pulled her in for a hug, Dewan said: “It’s all love!”
