Top Gear Return Date Confirmed
It has been confirmed that the new series of Top Gear, hosted by Chris Evans, will return to BBC Two in May 2016.
Evans has signed a three-year contract to be at the helm of the hotly anticipated revamp of the car show. It is currently unknown if Evans will host alone, following his appeal earlier this year on The One Show for car-enthusiasts to audition for the role of co-host. One thing’s for sure, Chris doesn’t sound keen to present a similar line up to the previous three, stating that “They’re the Three Stooges… and I’m not, I’m me.”
Whilst the BBC has been screen testing for a co-host, there’s one face, well… helmet, which we’ll almost definitely be seeing on our screens again. The Stig accompanied Chris to the recent trade show, MIPCOM, in Cannes, and Evans heavily implied it was a hint to the silent figure’s return to our screens next year.
