The Jungle Book Teaser Trailer Has Landed
And it’s epic.
Although most of the recent Disney hype has been surrounding the mega-cast and crew of the upcoming Beauty and the Best remake (yeah, we’re looking at you Emma Watson…), Disney have thrown us for six by dropping the teaser trailer for their live-action The Jungle Book.
And when you aren’t ready for this kind of epic detail it is completely overwhelming in a completely awesome way.
Disney hasn’t held back on production value and it’s paid off, with Life of Pi-esque landscapes, intricate CGI and a haunting soundtrack that looks to catapult the remake far into the Disney canon, making – dare we say it – a follow-up worthy of its original, thanks in large part to its Pirates of the Caribbean production team and Iron Man director Jon Favreau.
And more than that they’ve managed to secure some massive A-list talent for the feature including Scarlett Johannsson (Lost in Translation) who will take on the iconic Kaa and Bill Murray (Groundhog Day) as the beloved Baloo. The film also features Idris Elba (Luther) as the voice of the magnificent Sheere Kahn, Christopher Walken (Catch Me If You Can) in the role of King Louie and Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years A Slave) as Raksha.
Pretty much the worst part about it is that we have to wait until Spring 2016 to see the full-length film, so are restricted to simply marvelling at the glory of this two-minute teaser trailer. Looks like we’ll be hitting the repeat button for a while…
Disney’s The Jungle Book will be available in cinemas globally from April 2016.
