COMPETITION: Win series one of The Halcyon AND the stunning original soundtrack!
The unique new period drama The Halcyon is now available on DVD!
Offering a fresh and unique perspective on Britain at war, The Halcyon tells the story of a luxury London hotel during the turbulent 1940s. It examines how the war affected individuals from all social classes through events at The Halcyon hotel, from glamorous guests to hardworking staff to international observers. If you enjoyed the upstairs/downstairs dynamic of Downton Abbey, The Halcyon is one to watch.
A well-known cast complete the show, led by the acclaimed Steven Mackintosh (Luther) and Olivia Williams (Anna Karenina). Kara Tointon (Sound Of Music Live), Alex Jennings (The Queen), Matt Ryan (Arrow), Hermione Corfield (Pride and Prejudice And Zombies) and Mark Benton (Waterloo Road) also all star. Meanwhile, Sope Dirisu (Humans), Liz White (The Woman In Black), Charity Wakefield (Wolf Hall), Annabelle Apsion (Call The Midwife), Jamie Blackley (The Borgias), Edward Bluemel (Holby City), Nick Brimble (War & Peace), Michael Carter (Casualty), Akshay Kumar (Homeland), Imogen Waterhouse (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), Nico Rogner (Looking For Simon), Kevin Eldon (Danger Mouse) and Lauren Coe (Camelot) play additional roles.
The Halcyon also boasts a stunning original soundtrack, showcasing the music of the era. Acclaimed film and television composer Samuel Sim is at the heart of the new series, with the tone of the show established from the theme tune ‘Hourglass’, featuring the vocals of Tracy Kashi. Multi award-winning singer-songwriter Jamie Callum also contributes two original songs ‘Forever’ and ‘Invincible’, while Beverley Knight lends her vocal talents to ‘Marvellous Party’.
