Sam Faiers had a surprise visitor at the birth of her daughter
Former TOWIE star Sam Faiers has teased details of the birth of her daughter Rosie from the new series of her show The Mummy Diaries.
The series follows Sam as she faces the trials of motherhood, first with baby Paul and later with new arrival Rosie. Joining her for the new series is Sam’s sister Billie, who is also a young mum and former TOWIE star.
In a new interview with Mail Online, Sam recounted what it was like filming Rosie’s birth for television.
She said: “I had about six cameras on hand, but Billie filmed it on her phone. It was amazing. It was very emotional.
“The contractions were filmed. All of it. But it’s calm. No screaming and shouting. I want people to watch this and want to have a home birth.”
However, her young son Paul had a close call as he was nearly a surprise witness to the birth.
Talking about the birth, Sam said: “I had Billie there, my mum, [boyfriend] Paul [Knightley’s] mum, baby Paul. As soon as I pushed Rosie out, about 20 seconds later baby Paul came down the stairs.”
Poor Paul did, however, witness the entire aftermath.
“So he literally saw everything except for when I pushed her out. He didn’t need to see that!”
