REVIEW: Norman Reedus invites Jeffrey Dean Morgan for a thrill ride around Spain in Ride with Normal Reedus
The travel series fronted by The Walking Dead star, motorbike enthusiast and living legend Norman Reedus is back for a second season, and it’s off to a super start.
The first episode of season two kicks off in Spain and features a very special guest – Reedus’s ultra cool co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The pair go on a road trip from Barcelona to Valencia – making a stop in Reedus’s former home of Sitges along the way.
As usual, there’s stunning scenery, enviable eating and bikes a-plenty in the episode. Spain is a beautiful country filled with some of the world’s greatest art, food and sights, but it’s the chemistry between Reedus and Dean Morgan that brings the episode together. The pair are old friends – having met in their early twenties – and joining them really feels like a trip with the mates. Their particular brand of fun and enthusiasm for everything really enhances an already fascinating look at Spain.
There’s an oddly fitting homage to The Walking Dead in the way that fans swarm the two stars whenever they’re spotted in a public place. While Reedus and Dean Morgan are always accommodating to their fans, some of the scenes where they’re surrounded by large crowds almost create the same level of anxiety to watch as a particularly terrifying episode of The Walking Dead.
Then there’s the stuff that only Reedus and Dean Morgan would look cool doing – like racing down Spanish highways and buying shop-bought fireworks for a party on the beach. They wreck a Daryl mural together and it’s all really good fun. This is really what Ride with Norman Reedus is – a beautiful trip through incredible locations and a hell of a lot of fun.
