Reality stars to join I’m A Celeb camp
It wouldn’t be I’m A Celeb without a few last minute additions to the jungle.
As widely speculated, reality stars Ferne McCann, Spencer Matthews and Vicky Pattison will be joining the celebrities in the Australian wilderness from Wednesday’s show.
ITV tweeted the exciting news late last night after fans watched the first ten celebrities separated into teams and compete against one another in three tasks, before the losers undertook the first bushtucker trial.
Depending on how much reality television you watch, these three may need no introduction as some of the biggest names in semi-scripted reality television formats The Only Way Is Essex, Made in Chelsea and Geordie Shore. They follow in the footsteps of reality veterans Gemma Collins, Joey Essex, Hugo Taylor and Mark Wright, who all appeared in I’m A Celeb to wildly varying degrees of success. While TOWIE‘s Mark Wright came runner-up in the competition in 2011, last year’s reality television entrant Gemma Collins lasted just three days.
What we’re dying to know is how Ferne, Spencer and Vicki will stir up the action in the currently tranquil camp. Last year, late entrants Edwina Currie and Jake Quickenden became secret agents who carried out missions unbeknownst to the rest of the group. Jake Quickenden went on to become runner up on the show, with Edwina coming fourth in the competition.
I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here airs every day at 9pm on ITV. Ferne, Spencer and Vicki will make their first appearance on Wednesday’s show.
