Game of Thrones creators say series 7 will be pushed back
If you thought Game of Thrones fans will get their much deserved mid-April premiere date in 2017, well you thought wrong. According to creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss says they have to wait a “bit later”.
Benioff and Weiss had a guest appearance on the latest episode of UFC Unfiltered podcast to explain that the show will be pushed back due to the greatly-discussed arrival of winter in the series 6 finale.
“We don’t have an air date yet, but this year will probably be a little bit later,” Weiss said on the podcast.
“We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘winter is here’, and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more. So we kind of pushed everything down the line so we could get some grim grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”
While the two can’t be blamed for wanting actual winter for the winter scenes, it absolutely sucks that fans will have to wait longer for the premiere.
