Live chickens and a Simon Cowell blow up doll – Empire Cinemas reveal the weirdest items patrons left behind
To celebrate the release of Finding Dory on July 29, Empire Cinemas has released a list of the weirdest items that have been found in the past year at their 18 cinemas across the UK.
Among the weird and wonderful collection are a live chicken and a Simon Cowell blow up doll (we don’t want to know…).
Empire Cinemas report items such as loo roll, a dog’s collar, a loaf of bread and a tub of butter with finger indentations inside all being discovered by confused staff members while cleaning up after films.
There is also an alarming trend for patrons to forget their personal items at the cinema, with walking sticks, shoes, socks, hats, hearing aids, and false teeth all left by cinemagoers. Some might say the power of film can heal the soul, but this may be the first evidence we have suggesting film also has the ability to heal walking and hearing impediments.
90% of the people surveyed report having left an item behind at the cinema, with the most common items being coats (24%), followed by valuable wallets (19%) and mobile phones (16%).
Hopefully, Nemo and the gang won’t have quite so much trouble finding Dory.
