Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards reveals all about new romance with Our Girl’s Luke Pasqualino
Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards finally breaks the silence on her new man, Our Girl actor Luke Pasqualino.
After much speculation about whether the X Factor singer and the Our Girl actor are together, Perrie has finally spoken up on the matter, admitting: “We’ve been on a few fun dates.”
Speaking to Mail Online, the 23-year-old band member confessed: “It’s very early days. We’re just seeing how things go really. We’ve been on a few fun dates, but that’s all there is to it for now.”
She broke the silence about the former Skins star while promoting Little Mix’s latest single, “Shout Out To My Ex”, which is released on Sunday. The new song is highly anticipated as it is reckoned to be their most personal yet, featuring lyrics that allegedly reference Perrie’s ex-fiance Zayn Malik.
It looks as though the new track could be Perrie’s form of payback for the One Direction singer, after he ended their engagement last summer before swiftly moving on to supermodel Gigi Hadid.
When asked about the song lyrics, the South Shields singer explained: “When you read it on paper it looks ‘woah!’. Honestly, all our families have heard it and they think it’s fun.”
Well, Perrie’s family might think the track is a hoot, but we’re not so sure about how Zayn will feel about the lyrics: “‘I hope she gettin’ better sex, Hope she ain’t fakin’ it like I did, babe.'”
However, Perrie insisted that it isn’t as personal as all that, saying: “When you hear the song and you see the video you’ll realise it’s a bit more tongue in cheek than what it is. It’s just a bit of fun.”
Perrie’s bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock chipped in, describing her mum’s enthusiastic reaction to the music video: “I was watching the video with my mum and when that bit came she was like, “Yes Perrie!” She absolutely loved it.”
It sounds like it hasn’t just been Perrie suffering some heartbreak this year, as all four of the girls were able to draw on some real-life experience for their latest hit. Jesy Nelson said: “I think it’s nice to be able to talk about your experience and use it.”
“I feel like anyone can listen to this song when they’ve broken up with someone and feel amazing and not feel s**t, which is really rare. I don’t think you really hear heartbreak songs that make you feel better.”
She added: “We all just knew we wanted to write about everything we’ve gone through as a group this year, so it just came about really naturally and easy because we had so much to say.”
With a new single and a new squeeze, it sounds like Perrie is back on track and killing it!
