Julie Andrews to teach us how to be stars on new Netflix puppet show
Netflix has announced today that Dame Julie Andrews will be teaming up with the Jim Henson company for new show, Julie’s Greenroom.
Andrews is working in collaboration with her own daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, on this project which aim is to educate preschool children about the world of performing arts. The Sound of Music superstar will teach the puppets how to dance, act, write and sing with the help of some A-list guests. Guest stars will include Alec Baldwin, Idina Menzel, and Josh Groban.
Dame Julie has commented on her excitement to do the show:
“This project represents the fulfilment of a long-held dream to educate children about the wonder of the arts. I am thrilled to be partnering with my daughter and long time co-author Emma to bring this show to life along with our co-creator, Judy Rothman-Rofė. We could not be more honoured to be working with the extraordinary Jim Henson Company. We are equally delighted to be premiering as a Netflix original production.”
