Happy Mother’s Day to the 5 best reality TV mums!
Today in the UK we celebrate those special ladies that brought us into the world. Happy Mother’s Day!
If for some reason you’re unable to see your mum today, luckily, the joy of reality TV can provide you with a charming alternative to spend the day with.
Let’s get straight into it with the Queen of reality TV mums. Matriarch of the ever growing Kardashian clan, Kris is a formidable woman who last year tried to trademark the word “momager” (a term she invented to describe her hybrid role as manager and mom of her hoard of children). Kris has been there through thick and thin for her children; divorces, babies, arrests, sex tapes – you name it, she can make money from it.
In 2000, Kate gave birth to twin girls, in 2004, Kate gave birth to sextuplets. Props to Kate; that can’t be easy. As such occurrences are so rare and are guaranteed to fascinate the public, someone made the smart decision to start filming that family. In 2007 Jon & Kate Plus 8 started airing, broadcasting the everyday challenges that these parents faced with their brood. Just two years later Jon and Kate got divorced and the network unceremoniously dropped “Jon” from the title of the show. Kate is now a sweetheart of American reality TV, having appeared on Dancing with the Stars, Celebrity Wife Swap and Celebrity Apprentice. In all honesty, just getting everyone’s teeth brushed in the morning must be hard enough – we salute you Kate Gosselin.
All of the Dance Moms
You do not want to mess with the Dance Moms. This intimidating group of pushy mothers supposedly take a back seat when it comes to showcasing their daughters. However, as the title may suggest, that isn’t always the case. The mothers are out to make their little darlings the biggest dance stars in the world and occasionally this spills over into a dose of healthy rivalry…
Currently making up 1/7th of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle is mother to three daughters: Farrah, Sophia and Portia. As a former child actress herself, Kyle is no stranger to the diva behaviour her kids often exhibit on the show.
When it comes down to it, she always has her daughters’ best interests at heart and demonstrates that loving side that we sometimes forget the housewives possess.
A Gogglebox favourite, Carolyne is the matriarch of the Michael family in Brighton. As well as sporadically throwing in a conversation-ending hilariously witty comment…
…Carolyne is always doing some sort of craftwork like this never-ending quilt making.
