Gorilla Grodd smashing back into The Flash Season 2
We’re very pleased to confirm that everyone’s favourite hyper-intelligent telepathic ape, Gorilla Grodd, will be smashing back into DC adventure series The Flash this season.
During a recent press conference, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said that Grodd’s return to The Flash will evoke a familiar cinematic dynamic between Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and the fearsome gorilla. “Caitlin plays Fay Wray to Grodd’s Kong”, were Kreisberg’s exact words.
“I think in Season 1 you got to see just a tiny bit of her relationship with Grodd, and you’ll get to see a little bit more of that and understand their connection from before. He’s got some unfinished business with her, I’d say”,
Grodd’s initial unveiling in Season 1 seriously took our breath away, as we’d foolishly doubted that the show could pull off the visuals of a giant gorilla with the ability to put people under his mental control. (According to the comics, Grodd can also project telekinetic force beams, telekinetically transmute matter, and transfer his consciousness into other bodies, as well as having the ability to absorb intelligence through the consumption of human brains). But they absolutely did pull it off.
Let’s take a moment to relive Grodd’s glorious introduction in Season 1:
The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW in the U.S, and Tuesdays at 8pm on Sky 1 in the UK.
