Game of Thrones Casts Essie Davis for Season 6
Another Game of Thrones casting has been announced, pumping up the adrenaline even further for the sixth season of HBO’s drama.
Following filming getting underway across the globe in the last couple of weeks, different news surrounding casting is getting revealed leaving us GOT fans in a constant state of nervous anticipation. This was heightened last week by the reveal that British boy Richard E Grant is joining season six and has been drummed up once more this week now that Essie Davis has been confirmed as well.
The Bababook star’s role is yet unknown though it is rumoured she will play an actress in a travelling troupe who portrays a version of Cersei Lannister (played by Lena Headey on the show). Similarly, Grant will be an actor in the same troupe who portrays Cersei’s late husband, Robert Baratheon, according to the same report.
Davis joins other new Game of Thrones cast members including Max von Sydow, Ian McShane, and Freddie Stroma. Von Sydow will play the Three-Eyed Raven, while Stroma will play Dickon Tarly. McShane’s role is unknown.
So much speculation is surrounding the popular drama’s sixth season, including whether the death at in its season five finale, really was a death (spoiler alert: said character’s actor has been reportedly been sighted filming a battle scene in Northern Ireland, so it looks like he might not really be dead at all). Furthermore, more and more, ex-cast members have been reported in Belfast, suggesting that not all is as it seems in Westeros.
Season six of Game of Thrones will air in April next year and has been renewed for a seventh season, though it is widely believed the show will conclude after an eighth season.
