Expect the unexpected with Horror Channel this November
Horror Channel sounds pretty self-explanatory, right? Scary monsters chasing women through the woods, steadily picking off a group of college-aged vacationers in the spooky cabin that they didn’t intend to book.
Not so fast! There’s actually a lot more than you might expect on Horror Channel. From old school sci-fi classics, like Star Trek: The Original Series, to Arnold Schwarzenegger conspiracy thriller The 6th Day: it’s not just the scary stuff.
Here are a few highlights on Horror Channel this November:
Star Trek: The Original Series
Weekdays at 6pm through November
The absolutely classic science fiction needs no introduction, but here we go. Set in our very own Milky Way galaxy in the 2260s, Star Trek follows the adventures of Captain Kirk (William Shatner), First Officer Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and Chief Medical Officer McCoy (DeForest Kelley) plus the rest of the crew on the starship Enterprise. Their mission? To boldly go where no man has gone before.
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Weekdays at 7pm through November
The second Star Trek sequel series, The Next Generation takes place a century later on the starship Enterprise. A new crew man the ship, including Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), Commander William Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and Lieutenant Commanders Data (Brent Spiner), Worf (Michael Dorn) and Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton). Their space exploratory mission remains the same, with a fresh batch of exciting new adventures.
Andromeda
Weekdays at 8pm through November
From the creator of Star Trek: The Original Series and The Next Generation, Gene Roddenberry, the lesser known Andromeda is just as imaginative. Set in deep space in a post-apocalyptic future, Captain Dylan Hunt (Kevin Sorbo) commands the Andromeda Ascendant. It’s up to Hunt and his crew to restore the Systems Commonwealth to return space to peace and prosperity.
Tremors
November 12 at 9pm
Kevon Bacon stars in the hit horror comedy film Tremors, which spawned five sequels, a prequel and a television series. It tells the story of two bored handymen who stumble across the dead body of their friend, leading them to a seismologist who can’t make sense of bizarre readings underground. Their adventures lead to a fight for survival as a new threat emerges: giant worm-monsters hungry to devour mankind.
The 6th Day
November 17 at 9pm
Set in a future where animal and human organ cloning is the norm, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Adam Gibson, a pilot who returns home from a work trip to discover a clone of himself is now living with his family. Gibson discovers he is embroiled in a deadly conspiracy, and his only chance to clear his name is to fight his way to the truth.
The Arrival
November 20 at 9pm
Charlie Sheen stars in this sci fi conspiracy thriller as an astronomer who discovers alien contact with humans only to be dismissed from his job under mysterious circumstances. Could a covert alien invasion already be underway? The race to uncover the truth and spread the word is on.
Serenity
November 26 at 9pm
A cult classic from the mind of Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon, Serenity follows on from the much-loved series Firefly. It tells the story of a psychic fugitive with a deadly secret, who is rescued by her brother and the crew of the spaceship Serenity.
