EastEnders shocks fans as out-of-control bus rips through Albert Square
We were warned to expect a shocking event in EastEnders this week, but we still weren’t expecting this.
In a chilling turn for the London-based soap, a bus containing Walford regulars drove straight through the fictional market where other characters were having a heated argument.
Denise Fox, who was on board the ill-fated vehicle, discovered the bus driver suffering a heart attack but was unable to regain control of the vehicle. The bus plunged through the heart of Albert Square’s market, where Martin Fowler and the other traders were arguing with market inspector Carmel Kazemi over the proposed plans to change the location of the market.
The bus only came to a halt after crashing straight into the bridge, trapping schoolkids Louise Mitchell and Bex Fowler inside the top deck.
The tragedy occurred in the dying seconds of the episode, leaving fans completely in the dark about what will happen next. A potential death of a regular has been rumoured, but judging by what we’ve just seen – that could be nearly anybody involved in the catastrophe.
Some fans also pointed out on social media that the worst may be yet to come. As the bus has crashed into the bridge where the tube runs, it is possible the tube may derail when it reaches Walford. Three series regulars, Shirley, Tina and Sylvie Carter, are currently on the tube home after a disappointing photography session.
Monday’s episode sparks the beginning of disaster week, with all the episodes this week expected to follow the aftermath of the bus crash.
EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
