Christopher Biggins claims Celebrity Big Brother is fixed
Christopher Biggins is the latest former Celebrity Big Brother star to claim the show is fixed.
The 67-year-old television personality was an early favourite to win the 18th series of the show, but after just nine days in the house he was removed for offensive comments about bisexuality.
Now, speaking to the Daily Mirror, he has claimed show bosses wanted to get rid of him early to pave the way for reality show veterans Stephen Bear or Marnie Simpson to win the show.
He said: “Everyone has said it. They wanted [Stephen] Bear or Marnie [Simpson] to win. And look what happened. I’ve had nothing but positive comments on Twitter since I left the house. I feel bosses wanted me out from the beginning.”
Biggins also has hit out at the Channel 5 show for not paying him the agreed fee for his appearance. He said: “I was told I would get a certain amount when I was kicked out and it was half of that.”
Biggins previously defended the comments he made in the Big Brother House, during which he suggested bisexuals were responsible for the AIDS epidemic. Speaking to The Sun, he said: “Renee [Graziano] said she knew a CIA man who told her that the American government had come up with the virus in order to get rid of people in third world countries – I had also heard the rumour.”
“Then I said to her that there were a lot of bisexuals who went to these countries and had sex, and then took it back to their wives or lovers and gave them the virus. That’s what I’ve read and that’s what I believe.”
This is far from the first time Celebrity Big Brother has been accused of being a fix. Fans were recently outraged after watching a live feed of the show that seemed to indicate it was scripted. During a live sequence, housemates all said goodnight and went to bed briefly. Minutes later, the lights came back on and one housemate, Ricky Norwood congratulated the housemates on a “great take”.
