BAFTA TV Awards 2016: the full list of nominations
Oscar winner Mark Rylance is up against Idris Elba, while Sheridan Smith will take on Suranne Jones in this year’s BAFTA TV Awards. The list of 2016 nominees is somewhat predictable, with Wolf Hall picking up four nominations, Doctor Foster earning three, and London Spy and The C-Word being up for two awards each. Nominated in the supporting actor category for his work in BBC Two’s The Dresser is two-time Oscar nominee Sir Ian McKellen – a recipient of four BAFTA film award nominations – yet this is his first nomination for a BAFTA TV award. Meanwhile, fan favourite Poldark only gets a mention in the Radio Times audience award category, where it is joined by Doctor Foster, The Great British Bake Off, Humans, Making a Murderer, and Peter Kay’s Car Share.
